What Supervised Study facilities are on offer?

Kilmartin Educational Services offer fully Supervised Study in bright, spacious, study halls throughout the school year. We have extended our supervised study hours due to student demand. Evening study will now run from 4 o' clock until 10 o' clock. Saturday study will run from 9.00-5.30.  Sunday Study will run from 12-4.00 starting after the October mid-term break. Sunday study hours will then be extended to 10-4 from Easter onwards. Please note that at this time, we are unable to offer supervised study in Ennis on a daily basis. Supervised Study is only available during the mid-term breaks in our Ennis branch.

 

What are my payment options?


Yearly/Term Paying Students

Students who wish to study in Kilmartin Educational Services throughout the academic year have a number of payment options. Students can pay daily, semesterly or yearly.This year, the yearly rate for supervised study has been reduced to 700.00. Yearly students are entitled to come every day after school, at weekends and May/June bank holidays. They will also be entitled to join Holiday Study and our Christmas & Easter Revision Courses for HALF PRICE if they have paid the full yearly fee before September 30th (Half price Revision Course offer applies to yearly students booking 5 courses or more and cannot be used in conjunction with any other offer). Furthermore, yearly students are entitled to come in and use our study halls during the day if their school is closed or if they have a half day. Please note that the payment for yearly study is non refundable and non transferable.

 

From January to June, students can pay a semesterly rate for Supervised Study. This rate is 350 for the first semester and 400 for the second semester. This includes midweek study & Saturday/Sunday study.  Like our yearly students, the semesterly paying students are welcome to come in and use our study halls from 9am in the morning during the school term if they have a day off school and our study halls will be at their disposal until the exams finish at the end of June. Please note that the payment for semesterly study is non refundable and non transferable.

 

Daily Rates

We would also welcome regular daily paying students.  Evening Study is 3 euros per session or 6 euros for 2 or 3 sessions and 8 euro for a 4 sessions (4-10pm). Saturday Study is 4 euro from 9-12 o clock or 1-4 o clock. 9-4.00 will be charged at 8 euros and 9-5.30 is 10 euros. Sunday Study currently runs from 12-4 o clock and costs 8 euros. From 3rd April 2011 Sunday Study will be extended and will run from 10-4 and cost 10 euros. Please note that students are more than welcome to come in and use our study halls from 9am if their school is closed during term time. This facility costs 10 euros and students are welcome to stay from 9am right up until 10pm at night. 

 

 

What happens if my son/daughter is late or doesnt show up for a study session?

Safety is a priority in Kilmartin Educational Services and attendance is strictly monitored. Parents are requested to contact Kilmartin Educational Services before 10am if a student will be unable to attend an evening session. In the case of Saturday/Sunday study, we would request that parents contact us the day before to advise us that their son/daughter will not be present. Students must sign the attendance record at the beginning of each study session. If a students is absent from a study period in which they are enrolled parents will be contacted immediately by phone or text message. We would ask that you would call the office on 061-444989 to confirm the students abscence and NOT reply to the text message as we only have an outgoing text service.

 

What is a Flexi Student?

If a parent confirms in writing that they would like their son or daughter to be flexi, no phonecall home will be made if they are absent or late for a study session. Please note that even is a student is flexi, they must join/leave study at the beginning or end of a given session. The flexi option often suits students who are involved in a lot of extra curricular activities and whose attandance would be irratic. Parents are not required to notify us of absenteeism if their son/daughter is flexi. However, it is still possible for a parent to ring us at the end of the week to find out what days & times their son/daughter has been in attendance. Please note that if a student is flexi but has paid the yearly fee, there will always be a place for them in the study hall. However, if a student is daily paying and flexi, we cannot always guarantee them a space on busy days as we will not know when to expect them in.

 

What rules must students abide by?

Our study halls must be kept noise and distraction free. Students are not allowed to converse, pass notes or distract other students. Mobile phones MUST be switched off and any student caught using a mobile in the study halls will have their phone confiscated. Any student that is consistently disruptive will be asked to leave without any refund of fees and their parents will be phoned. We do not have a canteen facility and eating is not permitted in Kilmartin Educational Services. However, there is a cafe operating independently of Kilmartin Educational services downstairs that students are free to access at break time without having to leave the premises.

 

Can students come in and study during the day?

Students can come in and use our study halls by day during the school term if they have free classes or days off. Yearly students can avail of this facility free of charge. All other students will be charged 10 euro to come in by day. For 10 euro students can come in from 9am and stay up to 10pm at night. Please note that we do not have Supervisors on duty before 4 o clock but there are cameras in the study halls and unruly behaviour will not be tolerated!

 

Why choose Supervised Study in Kilmartin Educational Services?

 

 

  • Our Study Halls are open from September right through until the state exams finish at the end of June.
  • From November onwards we offer Sunday study in addition to Mid Week study and Saturday study.
  • Yearly paying students who have paid the full fee by Sep 30th are entitled to Holiday Study ie. October Mid Term, Christmas, February Mid Term and Easter Study half price!
  • Yearly paying students who have paid their full fees by Sep 30th are also entitled to avail of half price Revision Courses at Christmas and Easter! (Please note that students must be booking 5 courses or more and that this cannot be availed of in conjunction with any other offer)
  • We are open for Supervised Study on May/June Bank Holidays. These days are included in the yearly study rate.
